Professional Experience

Mr. Fredric Bodner served for almost 23 years in various positions in the New York State Insurance Department including Special Deputy Superintendent and Assistant Deputy Superintendent. He was Chief of the Life and Health Bureau for 14 years, during which time he had broad regulatory responsibility including supervision of the prior review and approval of life insurance and health insurance products submitted by licensed insurers; and HMOs in New York State including financial solvency, statutory examinations, market conduct, and product and premium rate review and approval.

Mr. Bodner’s practice emphases are insurance regulatory and corporate law, life insurance law, health insurance law, administrative law and governmental relations.

Insurance Experience

Mr. Bodner currently provides assistance to the insurance industry on various topics including design, filing and obtaining approval of insurance products, opinions on the legality of insurance company practices, provision of advice and assistance with regard to advertising and marketing issues, Insurance Department examination issues, policy replacement issues, premium rate and compensation issues, and related insurance matters.
