Professional Experience

Matthew Lopes has a unique practice which includes government relations and serving as a Special Master, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California, overseeing prison reform compliance.  His service as Special Master includes complex constitutional law issues relating to the Thirteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.  In his efforts as Special Master has assisted in the implementation of mandatory mental health screening, diagnosis and treatment of prisoner throughout the California prison system.

Mr. Lopes is a frequent lecturer on the subject of prison reform.  In addition tohis practice as a Special Master, Mr. Lopes chairs the Government Relations Group of the firm and in this practice represents clients ranging from Fortune 100 companies to closely held businesses.  His practice involves health care, telecommunications, transportation, pharmaceuticals and national non-profit agencies.
