Professional Experience
Laurin H. Mills is a Shareholder in the Alexandria office of LeClairRyan. He is the Leader of the Alexandria office and the Co-Leader of the firm’s Intellectual Property & Technology Team. Mr. Mills focuses his practice on intellectual property and technology-related litigation and counseling and has litigated patent, copyright, trade secret, and technology licensing and contracting disputes in most of the major federal patent venues and in international arbitrations. He also has substantial experience with post-issuance litigation issues, in particular patent interferences. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Mills was a marketing executive with IBM and Wang Laboratories. He was the #1 ranked account executive in the world for Wang in FY 1986.
Mr. Mills earned his J.D., cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center and has B.S. and B.A. degrees from the University of Maryland. He is admitted to practice in Virginia, Maryland and in the District of Columbia. He is also admitted in numerous federal district and appellate courts, including the Federal Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
