Professional Experience

Mr. Ark Monroe practices corporate and administrative law with an emphasis in insurance and utility issues. He represents insurance companies in company formation, acquisitions, reorganizations, mergers, and admissions to do business in various states. Mr. Monroe prepares and files insurance holding company acquisition statements and permanent registration statements. He also represents electric cooperatives, business corporations, insurance companies and insurance trade associations before state legislatures, Congress and regulatory agencies. Mr. Monroe drafts legislation and coordinates legislative activity in addition to testifying and preparing testimony for state legislatures and Congress.

Mr. Monroe served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, Union Life Insurance Company, Little Rock, Arkansas from 1981 to 1989. He also served as Legislative Director for U.S. Senator Dale Bumpers, 1976-1981 and as Insurance Commissioner for the State of Arkansas, 1972-1976.

Mr. Monroe’s other activities include serving on the University of Arkansas Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences Board of Advisors and on the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Chapter of the National Conference of Christians and Jews.
