Professional Experience
Stephen L. Morgan is a shareholder in Murphy Desmond, S.C. and primarily devotes his practice to the areas of securities offerings, commercial litigation and representation of clients on issues involving a variety of state regulatory and administrative matters.
His substantial experience in the preparation of securities offerings and the registrations of securities or implementation of exempt offerings in interstate or intrastate transactions has benefited a wide range of business clients. Besides representation before securities regulatory agencies such as the Securities and Exchange Commission, the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc., and state commissioners of securities, Mr. Morgan assists clients before state agencies on issues involving business, insurance, banking, environmental, gambling and health issues.
In addition, he handles complex business litigation and securities claims in state and federal courts as well as before arbitration tribunals throughout the country.
Mr. Morgan was an Assistant Attorney General of Wisconsin from 1972-1975 and again from 1978-1980. Between 1975-1978 he was an Assistant US Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin. From 1980-1985 he served as Wisconsin Deputy Commissioner of Securities. He has taught trial advocacy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and continues as a guest lecturer.
