Insurance Experience

Mike is a shareholder with Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A. He provides top-notch legal counsel in complex government, litigation and transactional matters. Mike co-chairs the firm’s Insurance and Financial Services practice, anchoring it with a unique blend of experience.

Mike has an “insider’s view” of Minnesota government, starting with his experience working for the Minnesota State Senate (1989-1992). Before working for the senate, Mike clerked for the Honorable Gary L. Crippen on the Minnesota Court of Appeals (1988-1989).

Mike’s extensive litigation experience includes working on two of the largest insurance insolvencies in U.S. history, Mission Insurance Companies and Executive Life Insurance Company. In litigation, Mike represents a variety of clients at the trial and appellate levels in both federal and state courts, as well as in mediations and arbitrations.
