PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Prior to joining Waller Lansden, Paul Summers served as Tennessee’s Attorney General for an eight-year term and represented all agencies of state government, including the Department of Commerce and Insurance. General Summers was twice elected to the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals and elected District Attorney General in the multi-county 25th Judicial District of Tennessee. His military career spans more than 30 years, with active and reserve duty in the Air Force, Army, and Tennessee Army National Guard. He served his military career in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG) branch and achieved the rank of full colonel. Retiring in 2005 from the National Guard, General Summers was decorated with the Legion of Merit by the President. He is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America (Woodward White, Inc.) for his work in commercial litigation.
