Rendell Deputy Secretary Eric Battisti Joins Buchanan’s State Government Relations Practice
Harrisburg, PA, March 11, 2009 — Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC announced that Eric P. Battisti, who served as senior deputy secretary for legislative affairs for Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell, will join the firm on March 23, as a government relations professional in Buchanan’s Harrisburg location.
“Eric has been an invaluable member of the team whose efforts have been central to implementing my agenda,” stated Governor Rendell. “I wish him the best at his new endeavor and want him to know he will be missed.”
For the past decade, Battisti has held various state government positions, including for the Department of State and the Pennsylvania State Senate. In his role with the Governor’s Office of Legislative Affairs, he formulated and implemented a legislative strategy to carry out the administration’s goals, policies and programs so key members of the Legislature were informed and aware of the administration’s positions on the issues. Battisti was intimately involved in the passage of Act 44, a roads and transit bill that has increased transportation funding by $1 billion, and the enactment of the Governor’s energy fund that will pump $650 million into the green energy sector.
Prior to becoming senior deputy secretary, Eric was director of the Office of Legislative Affairs for the Department of State, where he served as a liaison for the governor and the Department of State to the members of the General Assembly.
“Eric is a wonderful addition to our team and brings a depth of knowledge of the state legislative process that will serve our clients well,” said Tom Paese, chair of the firm’s State Government Relations Section.
