Gaming Experience

Mr. Wheeler has extensive experience representing the gaming industry in administrative, regulatory, and litigation matters. These include license application and transfer issues, jackpot claims, and trademark litigation. Mr. Wheeler was named a winner of the prestigious Burton Award for Legal Achievement co-sponsored by the Library of Congress for his article “Slamming in Cyberspace: The Boundaries of Student 1st Amendment Rights.” He has twice been the winner of the Indiana State Bar Association’s Benjamin Harrison Award, its highest legal writing award. In addition, he was selected by his peers for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America 2007 edition.

Mr. Wheeler is very active politically, providing legal advice on campaign, finance, and election issues to political parties and candidates. He also serves as Chairman of the Indiana State Election Commission and of the Indiana Republican Lawyers Association.

Mr. Wheeler has extensive experience representing the insurance industry in administrative, regulatory, and litigation matters and has built a reputation as one of the top insurance defense litigators in Indiana particularly for governmental entities.
