Mr. Basile is the managing member. Mr. Basile’s primary areas of practice are state and local government, and community relations, business, land use planning and administrative law. Mr. Basile has drafted and promoted legislation and administrative rules before the West Virginia Legislature and Executive Branch; he has negotiated business site locations and expansions involving incentive application, property acquisition, tax and land use planning issues; and, he has represented a diverse mix of business clients during formation, sale, purchase, merger and dissolution activities. Mr. Basile has also represented business clients on state and local tax issues including business and occupation, sales, service, valuation, assessment and credits as well as lenders and borrowers in loan transactions, participations and work-out situations. Mr. Basile has prepared and argued numerous cases before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit resulting in published opinions relating to issues of administrative and constitutional law. Mr. Basile has also been instrumental in establishing United States operating entities for international clients and facilitating foreign trade zone establishment and use. In the community, Mr. Basile serves on the Board of Directors of the Charleston Inter-Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Fifth Third Bank, the Charleston Area Alliance and Vision Shared, Inc. He is an Advisory Board Member for West Virginia University, College of Business and Economics. |
