| Maureen is an attorney in Tonkon Torp’s Government Relations & Public Policy Practice Group. An effective facilitator of informed policy making and a trusted problem solver, she offers comprehensive government affairs services to the firm’s clients on matters before the Oregon Legislature, administrative agencies, and local governments. Maureen has a wealth of technical and legal expertise in the policy arena and experience in a wide array of industries and subjects including public utilities, telecommunications, climate and natural resources, energy-related economic development, transportation, and real property. She joined Tonkon Torp following a successful career as a Senior Deputy Counsel in the Oregon Office of Legislative Counsel. In this role she served lawmakers for nearly nine years, providing nonpartisan, policy-neutral legal advice and legislative drafting services to the 90 members of the Oregon Legislative Assembly. Maureen was the lead legislative counsel on a large variety of legally and politically complex legislative discussions, covering everything from carbon cap-and-trade to product stewardship and broadband accessibility. Maureen holds a B.A. from the University of Puget Sound and a J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law. Immediately following law school, Maureen worked as a judicial clerk, first for the Honorable Ellen Rosenblum at the Oregon Court of Appeals and later for the Honorable Erika Hadlock, also at the Oregon Court of Appeals. |
