Mr. Scobbo focuses on complex municipal, economic, financial and contract-related administrative and civil litigation and counsel. Since early 1988, Mr. Scobbo has served as general counsel to the Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company. Mr. Scobbo is also general counsel to the Massachusetts Municipal Utility Self-Insurance Trust Fund and represents a number of Massachusetts municipal light departments in a variety of matters. He has provided legal counsel to a range of public and private entities in the areas of formation, litigation, finance and contract.

Since 1986, Mr. Scobbo has been a shareholder in the law firm of Ferriter Scobbo & Rodophele, PC. Immediately prior to joining the firm, Mr. Scobbo was a shareholder in the firm of Ferriter & Barna, P.C. since 1982 and prior to that was a sole practitioner in Boston.

From 1977 to 1980, Mr. Scobbo was the Senior Financial Analyst at the National Consumer Law Center with responsibility for all utility litigation. In that position, Mr. Scobbo tried cases in over 25 different jurisdictions. From 1974 to 1977, he was the Chief Financial Analyst in the Utility and Insurance Section of the Office of the Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. There, he supervised a staff of five accountants and analysts and had responsibility for all financial, accounting and other business-related aspects of cases before the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities and the Commissioner of Insurance.

He has been named a Super Lawyer by Law and Politics and Boston Magazine.

Mr. Scobbo is a member of the American, Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers. He is a member of the Bar of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. In addition to appearing before numerous trial courts and administrative agencies at the state and federal levels, he has appeared before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, the Supreme Courts for the State of New Hampshire, Vermont and Rhode Island, the United States Court of Appeals for the First and Second Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Districts of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine and the United States Bankruptcy Courts in New Hampshire and Maine.
